Explosion Risk Assessments
What is an Explosion Risk Assessment?
An Explosion Risk Assessment is a detailed evaluation of risks linked to equipment, processes, and facilities that may involve explosive atmospheres. It identifies possible ignition sources, evaluates hazard zones, measures the likelihood and potential consequences of an explosion, and defines measures to prevent or mitigate such events.
The process includes hazardous area classification, dividing areas into Zones based on the presence, frequency, and duration of explosive gases, vapours, or dusts. Correct zone classification is a fundamental requirement for any explosion risk analysis
